Gender roles

Gender roles are so powerful and they can really make you feel so powerless. Can you think of a world where it does not make a difference the way you dress, the way your hairstyle is, the way your body moves, the toys you prefer to play with, the person whom you choose to fall in love with, the freedom to select your path, the music you like to listen to, the length of your nails, the colour of your lips? Would it be such a big and enormous conflict in a person just because she thinks she is living in the wrong body? Would it make a difference if the body is just what you want it to be? Would it make you feel depressed because there is no label to define who you are because of the way you want to live your life? Would it make a difference if your path is defined by your happiness and not the other people idea of what your happiness should be?

Just close your eyes for a moment, think about that world, try to really make it real... would it be the same?
